Aerial Apparatus Operator (19 AAO)

A course designed to provide the structural Fire Fighter with the needed knowledge and skills to successfully operate aerial apparatus. A must for departments using aerial apparatus, this course covers such topics as: Types and Construction of Aerial Apparatus, Positioning Aerial Apparatus, Stabilizing Systems, and Maintenance and Testing. This course is based on NFPA 1002, "Standard on Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications" and may lead to a ProBoard certifications.

Confined Space Rescue Technician (CSRT-19)

This program is designed to meet certification requirements for Confined Space Rescue
Technician based on NFPA 1006 and to enhance the student'sability to perform critical
skill sets in the field of technical rescue for confined space rescue. During this course,
students will review technical rescue theories, techniques, and challenges to safely
execute the skill sets required for professional certification. Students will participate in
extensive hands on practical exercises and scenarios enabling them to apply newly
acquired skills and knowledge in a challenging real world environment. This course is
designed for the experienced rescuer with a strong working knowledge of technical
rescue in accordance with NFPA 1006 Chapter 7 Level 1 and 2 and 1670. 
Evaluator NPQ (NPQE-19)

***Personnel not only need to register with RAPSTC but also register on the test event site for Firefighter Standards and Training.***This class is designed to teach the student how to evaluate skills stations for National Professional Qualification Pro Board. The 8 hour session will teach the student the necessary skills to transform from an instructor to a testing evaluator

This course is based on NFPA 1021 "Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications" and may lead to ProBoard and IFSAC certifications. This course is specialized for the chief officer who is ready to advance into the upper management level of his/her department. This course consists of subjects designed to give the officer more knowledge of management and administration so that he/she can make basic evaluations of employee relations and assume a more proactive role in his/her department. This is a projects-based class.

Incident Command for High-Rise Operations (ICHRO-19)
8/1/2019 - RAPSTC/MANSELL Location
This 2-day course is designed to assist emergency response officers who have responsibility for managing highrise incidents. This includes organizing resources, developing strategies, and managing tactical operations to protect life and to minimize damage during an incident. Special Notes: Students attending should have a: Working knowledge of basic Incident Command System organization; Working knowledge of strategy and tactics for structural firefighting; Knowledge of building construction; and understanding of the type of building systems existing in high-rise buildings. Students wishing to have their own copy of the student manual and other handouts for this course should go to the following link to download and print the student manual and any associated handouts or scenarios. Student Manuals Manuals will be provided for students who do not bring their own copy to class. The manuals provided by the Georgia Fire Academy will remain the property of the Georgia Fire Academy and will be collected at the close of the class.  
Incident Command for Structural Collapse Incidents (ICSC-19)

This 16-hour course is designed to provide fire officers with an understanding of command operations at structural collapse incidents. Topics include basic command procedures, ICS organizational structure, resource capabilities, scene management, operational considerations and phases, technical rescue, safe operations and effective incident management. This course is intended for individuals who have statutory authority/responsibility and may serve in a unified command structure at a structural collapse; fire command officers. Special Notes: Students attending should understand and be able to apply the Incident Command System (ICS) concept. Leadership and Supervision-Framework to Success (LS-19)

*Course Description: This two-day course presents the fire and EMS supervisor with the basic leadership skills and tools needed to perform effectively in the fire and EMS environment. Successful transition to supervisory and leadership roles and the establishment of a conceptual foundation and framework for success in leadership roles are displayed by exploring creative, analytical, political, and critical thinking perspectives. ***Who Should Attend*** First line supervisors in fire and emergency medical services organizations. Fire and emergency medical services personnel due for promotion/appointment to a first line supervisory position within 18 months. Fire and emergency medical services personnel who are regularly assigned acting supervisory positions. Fire and emergency medical services personnel currently enrolled in the NFA Managing Officer will be provided priority selection. ***Special Notes*** This course meets the requirements of the Managing Officer Program for completion of Leadership III.  
NPQ Fire Instructor I (FI1-19)

This course is designed to meet NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor I qualifications. Students successfully completing this course will receive NPQ Fire Instructor I certification. This instructor training course is designed for instructors who teach from available lesson materials rather than create their own. It provides the foundation of communication skills, adult learning, teaching techniques and classroom management. Participants must select and present a 25-minute block of instruction for successful completion.
